CLEVELAND, Ohio — Check out how teams in the cleveland.com Top 25 high school football poll fared in Week 2. Game stories will be linked and recaps will be added throughout the night so check back.

Glenville (2-0) led 20-0 at the half but Liberty scored twice in the second half and recovered an onside kick with 2:28 left in the game. Glenville’s Gerald Goodwin sealed the victory with an interception in the end zone.

The Tarblooder defense set the tone early when Jermaine Agree returned a fumble for touchdown on the first series of the game. The Glenville offense faced long yardage twice in the first half and came up big. First on third and 10, J’Vaughn Goodson caught a screen pass and ran 33 yards for touchdown. After a touchdown was taken off the board because of a penalty, Glenville went for it on fourth-and-20 from the 27 and Deonte Rucker converted with a long touchdown to Damarion Witten. Glenville led 20-0 at the half.

The Shoreman scored 21 first quarter points en route to a blowout victory over Brecksville. Avon Lake quarterback Jeremy Dzik opened the scoring with 7-yard touchdown pass to Derek McCrum while Wade Nelson and Jason Krukowski each rushed for a touchdown. Nelson had three rushing touchdowns for the game.

Next: Sept. 2 vs. St. John the Baptist (N.Y.)

Olmsted Falls’ Derrick Neckar rushed for two first-half touchdowns. The Bulldogs increased the lead to 24-0 in the third quarter before Brunswick’s Jack Safe caught a 41-yard touchdown in third quarter. Olmsted Falls improved to 2-0 while Brunswick fell to 0-2.

No. 12 Cleveland Heights 69, Garfield Heights 28

Cleveland Heights (2-0) jumped out to a 20-0 first-quarter lead over Garfield Heights (1-1). Senior quarterback Darreon Fair has now led the Tigers to 112 points in season’s first two games.

Erie (Pa.) McDowell 56, No. 13 Walsh Jesuit 37

Walsh (1-1) fell to a very talented McDowell team. In 2021, McDowell was 9-3 and won two playoff games before losing to undefeated state champion Mt. Lebanon. McDowell led 42-28 at the half.

Hudson quarterback Jagger Palley completed all seven of his passes for 100 yards and three touchdowns. Ian Ludewig rushed for 72 yards and two touchdowns. Ludewig also caught a touchdown pass. Hudson (2-0) held Euclid (0-2) to just 25 rushing yards on 28 attempts.

Euclid’s Richard Buchannon caught six passes for 105 yards.

Trenton Stillings and Barberton stunned No. 15 Stow. The Magics led 3-0 after one quarter. The second quarter belonged to Stillings as he rushed for a 24-yard touchdown and returned an interception 27 yards for his second touchdown.

Barberton (1-1) added a second-half field goal and the Magics’ defense did the rest shutting out Stow (1-1).

Toledo Central Catholic 31, No. 17 Benedictine 0

A week after Toledo Central Catholic (1-1) let a fourth-quarter lead against No. 1 St. Edward, the Irish left no doubt against Benedictine. TCC’s Chris Edmonds rushed for two first half touchdowns. Benedictine fell to 0-2.

After a scoreless first quarter, Solon scored 27 second quarter points in a victory over Shaker Heights.

Solon (1-1) had seven penalties in the first quarter. Joe Bubonics threw three touchdowns and caught a 2-point conversion. EJ Taylor rushed for 132 yards including a 29-yard touchdown. Divad Bush returned an interception for touchdown,

Uniontown Lake 35, No. 21 Maple Heights 0

Lake running back Will Butler rushed for two touchdowns to lead Lake over No. 21 Maple Heights. Butler also threw a 41-yard touchdown to Nate Baker.

A Maple Heights (1-1) penalty negated Ed Robinson’s first-quarter 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

Next: Sept. 2 at Willoughby South

Tallmadge quarterback Ty Hurst broke the school’s all-time career touchdown passing record with his 59th career touchdown pass in the first quarter. It occurred on Tallmadge’s first offensive play of the game when Collin Dixon caught a 31-yard pass.

The pair would hook later in the quarter with a 74-yard touchdown. Dixon also threw a 22-yard touchdown to Seth Yacobucci. Tallmadge improved to 2-0.

Sandusky Perkins 43, No. 23 Elyria Catholic 42

Elyria Catholic took a risk and went for 2 in overtime on the road at Sandusky Perkins, but Perkins came up with a stop to earn the win.

Lance Glover and Jaden Gilbert each rushed for a touchdown as the Elyria (1-1) rebounded from an opening week loss to rival Elyria Catholic. Quarterback Ryan Klotz threw 24-yard touchdown and 2-point conversion to BJ Todd. Isaiah Johnson sealed the win with a fourth quarter 47-yard interception return for a touchdown.
